Garapa — (Apuleia leiocarpa) Garapa is a durable and stable hardwood from Brazil. It has a lustrous, golden brown color that will season over time to a darker shade of brown. It is similar to Teak in appearance and very desirable in an application where a lighter colored hardwood is required. Due to it’s price point, Garapa has carved a niche in the high end residential and commercial where more expensive woods like Ipe are outside of budget limitations. Garapa has a fine textured grain very similar to Ipe. Garapa has a 25 year warranty against rot and decay.
