Sipo Mahogany

Our Sipo Mahogany is an FEQ grade hardwood out of Africa, not to be confused with Khaya, the “African Mahogany” which notoriously has stability problems and lack of color uniformity. Sipo resembles very closely Honduras Mahogany in color and appearance and a large percentage of boards will have pattern or straight grain. It is slightly denser than Honduras Mahogany, machines well and has little to no movement in service. It is extremely durable and used for the same applications as Honduras Mahogany, including marine applications. Sipo is commonly used for Furniture, cabinetry, turned objects, veneers, musical instruments, boat-building, and carving.
