Art Deco & Modern
Art Deco and early Modern trim — running from roughly 1925 through the mid-1960s — broke decisively with everything that preceded it, replacing layered classical mouldings with stepped geometric profiles, flat planes, and clean reveals. The vocabulary is graphic and architectural: stepped crowns, plain rectangular casings, deep flat baseboards, and the occasional fluted or grooved accent that nods to the era’s industrial design. Poplar FAS S2S
Random width lumber surfaced 2 sides on opposite sides. The other two surfaces are the edges. Poplar is among the most economical and inexpensive of all domestic hardwoods and is typically used for paint grade materials. The sapwood is creamy white and may be streaked, with the heartwood varying from pale yellowish brown to olive green.
