Hardware

The right hardware is what makes cabinetry, casework, and decking feel truly built. As a proud distributor of King Slide® drawer slides, Mason’s Mill & Lumber pairs precision-milled lumber with the slides, hinges, fasteners, and finishing hardware that carpenters, cabinet shops, and builders rely on every day.

Hardware & Fasteners

Cabinetry and decking projects live or die by the small parts. A drawer that racks, a hinge that sags, a fastener that backs out — those details undo months of design and craftsmanship in a single season.

At Mason’s Mill & Lumber, we stock hardware the way we stock lumber: chosen for performance, matched to the job, and backed by people who know how it installs. From European-engineered Blum® hinges and undermount slides to King Slide® drawer systems and value-tier CGS options, we help you specify the right hardware for the cabinet, the drawer weight, and the budget in front of you.

Vertical Grain Pine — Cutek Extreme Clear Finish

Vertical Grain (VG) Pine is a premium cut of pine milled specifically so that the growth rings run perpendicular to the face of the board — typically at 60° to 90° to the surface. This "quartersawn" or "rift-sawn" orientation produces a board with a tight, straight, pinstripe-like grain pattern that is dramatically more stable and refined than standard flat-sawn (plain-sawn) pine. Because the growth rings are oriented vertically, VG boards resist the cupping, twisting, and cathedral-pattern grain shifts that flat-sawn lumber is prone to, and they wear more evenly over time — which is why vertical grain has been the traditional choice for high-end architectural applications like porch flooring, exterior siding, boat decks, and fine millwork.

The visual character of VG Pine is one of its biggest selling points: consistent, linear grain lines with minimal figure or knots, producing a clean, understated appearance that reads as more formal and architectural than character-grade pine. This makes it particularly well-suited to applications where the wood is a design feature rather than a background material — traditional porch ceilings, Craftsman and coastal-style siding, wainscoting, and interior paneling.

Each board is finished with Cutek Extreme Clear, a penetrating oil engineered to stabilize exterior wood from the inside out. Rather than forming a surface film like paint or varnish, Cutek carries its oils deep into the wood fibers, where they work continuously to slow moisture movement — the primary driver of cupping, checking, and end-splitting. This is especially valuable for pine, which is more naturally susceptible to moisture-related movement than denser hardwoods; Cutek's stabilizing action significantly extends the board's dimensional life outdoors. Because the finish penetrates rather than coats, it cannot peel or flake, and maintenance requires no sanding or stripping — just clean the surface and reapply when it looks dry. The clear formulation adds no pigment, allowing the natural honey-gold tone of the pine to show through initially before gradually silvering to a soft gray patina if left unmaintained with a colortone.

Ideal for porch ceilings, tongue-and-groove soffits, traditional lap or shiplap siding, wainscoting, interior paneling, and any application where a refined, straight-grained wood aesthetic is desired.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Blum® is Austrian-engineered hardware known for integrated Blumotion soft close, clip-top hinge mounting, and precise undermount slides — the go-to for high-end frameless and face-frame cabinetry. King Slide® is our heavy-duty, full-extension slide line, well-suited to production cabinet shops and drawers that carry real weight. CGS delivers dependable hinges, slides, and hinge plates at a value price point with a limited lifetime warranty — ideal for remodel work and production runs where budget matters. If you're not sure which fits your project, send us the drawer specs and we'll help you choose.

Both. Alongside our cabinetry hardware, we carry decking-specific tools and fasteners including the BoWrench® deck board straightening tool and the Deckwise® 3-in-1 Drill & Drive system for pre-drilling, countersinking, and driving in one pass. If you're building a Thermory®, Accoya®, or Ipe deck through us, we can bundle the fasteners and finish into the same quote.

Both. We work with architects, builders, cabinet shops, and contractors on trade terms, and we're also open to homeowners buying for their own projects. Trade accounts get pricing tiers and dedicated contact support — reach out if you'd like to set one up.

Tell us what you're looking for. Between our Blum®, King Slide®, CGS, BoWrench®, Deckwise®, and CUTEK® supplier relationships — plus the sourcing network we lean on for reclaimed and specialty materials — there's a good chance we can bring it in for your project.

Yes, and we recommend it. Bundling hardware and finish into your lumber quote means one point of contact, one delivery, and one invoice — the same way we already handle Thermory® deck packages and M3 Custom Millwork Shop projects.

Use the Request a Quote button on this page, call your Mason's Mill contact, or stop by the yard. Include the brand and part number if you have it, or just describe the project (drawer count, cabinet style, deck size) and we'll do the spec work.
