Sustained temperatures above 190°C fundamentally alter the wood's cell structure, driving off moisture and breaking down the organic compounds that fungi and insects feed on. To preserve that warm color and extend the wood's outdoor service life, each board is finished with Cutek Extreme Clear, a penetrating oil that soaks deep into the wood fibers rather than forming a surface film. Because Cutek works from the inside out, it stabilizes the board against moisture movement — the leading cause of cupping, splitting, and checking — without peeling or flaking like traditional coatings. The clear formulation contains no pigment, so the wood will naturally silver over time while remaining fully protected.
