From millwork and furniture to cabinetry, flooring, and architectural detailing, the right hardwood makes the difference. Mason’s Mill & Lumber supplies domestic and imported hardwood lumber — precision-sawn, grade-selected, and ready for your next project.
Hardwood is prized for its strength, durability, and natural beauty. Unlike softwoods, hardwoods originate from broadleaf trees and generally offer greater density, wear resistance, and distinctive grain patterns that enhance design value.
What hardwood brings to your project:
Superior durability and longevity — ideal for interior and exterior applications with frequent use.
Rich visual character — distinct grains and hues elevate millwork, cabinetry, and furniture.
Design flexibility — accepts staining, finishing, and machining with precision.
Long-term value — hardwood elements often boost resale and finish quality.
Cumaru, also known as "Brazilian teak", is an exotic hardwood that naturally resists rot, decay and insect attack. Cumaru is the second hardest decking wood as well. Cumaru has a 50+ year lifespan without preservatives. Cumaru has many benefits over genuine teak. Cumaru works especially well with face screws or a plug system.
Kiln dried.
Hardwood decking and products manufactured from hardwood decking are natural wood products, and as such will have natural variations in color and grain, including quarter sawn and plain sawn pieces. These variations are an accepted characteristic of these species and products, and are not considered a defect. All decking returns will be subject to a 15% restocking fee if the individual pieces are not found to be defective. Any acceptable returns must be in the exact same condition as when they were purchased.
Hardwood decking and products manufactured from hardwood decking are subject to possible movement in service including expansion and contraction. Some pieces with slight warp are possible as well. It is advised that proper installation techniques are followed to minimize the possible movement in service of these products. Mason’s Mill & Lumber is not responsible for any possible movement in service, as this is a natural characteristic of all wood.
Garapa is a stable and durable exotic hardwood from Brazil that is naturally resistant to rot, decay and insect attack. Garapa is naturally scratch resistant which allows the surface to remain smooth for many years. Garapa is a wood that will out-perform pine, cedar, and other softer woods.
Garapa is a more affordable exotic hardwood for high end residential and commercial projects where more expensive woods like ipe are outside of budget limitations. Garapa has a fine textured grain very similar to ipe. Garapa also has a 25 year warranty against rot and decay.

Air dried ipe decking has a higher moisture content and is best for exterior applications with a variety of weather conditions.

Mason’s Mill and Lumber will not be responsible or issue a credit for any cup, warp, twist or splitting that occurs in any custom cut Fir or Cedar boards or beams. These issues can be present in material cut from larger beams and timbers and need to be accounted for by the buyer when determining if Fir or Cedar is appropriate for the intended application. Cedar and Fir products will typically have knots.
Kiln-dried ipe decking is ideal for exterior applications in dry climates. Its moisture content varies from 10 to 18%, putting it precisely between the moisture content levels of typical air-dried ipe decking and interior-grade ipe. In desert climates or high-altitude environments, this hybrid choice is ideal.
Another consideration is the amount of direct sunlight that beats on the wood throughout the day; a high amount of sun exposure can dry out the wood, causing it to warp. By laying down drier kiln dried ipe boards, you reduce the chances of warping. As a result, kiln-dried ipe may be more optimal in unusually dry climates or unshaded areas of the South.

Kebony® is modified wood sourced from FSC®-Certified forests and made to last using a patented and proprietary modification process called furfurylation. Furfurylation uses a bio based liquid called furfuryl alcohol derived from agricultural plant waste.
The Kebony Step-Clip™ system uses easy to install strips along with Kebony deck boards to minimize time and labor spent surfacing decks. This innovative hidden fastener system places the focus on the beauty of your Kebony and ease of decking installation.

Since 1989, Mason’s Mill & Lumber has been a trusted source of high-quality hardwood lumber for builders, fabricators, and artisans. We combine deep inventory, flexible milling capabilities, and material expertise to support projects of all sizes and complexities.
Hardwood lumber comes from broadleaf trees and is valued for its density, strength, and grain complexity — making it ideal for furniture, cabinetry, flooring, and detailed millwork.
Hardwoods generally have a more complex cellular structure with greater density and stronger wear resistance than softwoods, which are often lighter and more uniform.
Cherry, Walnut, Maple, and Oak are popular choices due to their workability, finish acceptance, and grain character.
