Italianate architecture took hold in America from roughly 1840 to 1885, borrowing the bracketed eaves, tall narrow windows, and richly curved profiles of Renaissance Italian villas. Italianate moulding favors sweeping ogee curves, bold scroll brackets, paired window hoods, and crown assemblies that project further from the wall than any other 19th-century style.
Mason’s Mill carries 45 Italianate profiles suited to brownstone restorations, Hudson Valley villas, and the bracketed wood-frame Italianates common across the Midwest. They pair naturally with our Victorian profiles when restoring transitional homes built in the 1860s and 1870s.
SEAL-ONCE® EXOTIC with NANO GUARD™ Premium Wood Sealer deeply penetrates the surface to protect and stabilize exotic wood against weather and caustic conditions. This formula uses proprietary nano-polymers to create a long-lasting flexible breathable barrier by coating the wood fibers at the cellular level to provide protection from the inside out
Our clear, non-film forming EXOTIC with NANO GUARD™ allows rare wood species to age naturally without decay, morphing to a rich silver-gray over time. We offer a full range of semi-transparent tints that can be added to the clear formula. These tints operate as UV blockers to prevent the wood from graying while enhancing the natural grain and texture. SEAL-ONCE® EXOTIC is water-based.
