Whether you’re finishing new cabinets or working on intricate architectural designs, our lip moulding options are crafted to meet even the most elaborate needs. Please note that the images provided are not to scale; refer to the listed measurements for accurate dimensions of each profile.
Surfaced 3 sides, two smooth faces and one straight edge for optimal lumber yield. Our sipo mahogany is an FEQ grade hardwood out of Africa, not to be confused with khaya, the “African mahogany” which notoriously has stability problems and lack of color uniformity. Sipo resembles very closely Honduras mahogany in color and appearance and a large percentage of boards will have pattern or straight grain.
It is slightly denser than Honduras mahogany, machines well and has little to no movement in service. It is extremely durable and used for the same applications as Honduras mahogany, including marine applications. Sipo is commonly used for furniture, cabinetry, turned objects, veneers, musical instruments, boat-building, and carving.
