Rift cut is a term that refers to the visual characteristics of the face of each board. The lumber is sawn for the best grain rather than the highest grade. Our rift white oak is an S&B grade out of the Appalachian mountains.
Rift white oak is a hard and heavy wood, typically used for furniture, cabinet making, interior trim work, paneling flooring, cooperage for wine and whiskey, and shingles.
