Most of the river barge is made up of metal and are accented Ipe (Brazilian Walnut) also known as Iron Wood. Mason’s Mill has seen an up rise in designers using Ipe as its characteristics are more like metal than wood. It’s got the same meting grade as Concrete and an underground tested life span of over 50yrs+. Mason’s Mill used extra wide boards to get single pieces and avoid laminating (gluing) small pieces of Ipe together. The final product makes for a smooth organic surface that is easy on the eyes and hands, the naturally dark wood really adds character and richens the overall look of the barge.
