Mason’s Mill & Lumber offers an extensive selection of red oak and white oak stair treads in a variety of dimensions. For projects requiring a unique touch, we specialize in crafting custom stair treads in a wide range of wood species, including walnut, rift and quartered oak, pecan, hickory, Brazilian cherry, and mahogany. We can also create custom treads to seamlessly match exotic flooring species, ensuring a cohesive look for any project.
Quarter sawn refers to the visual characteristics of the face of each board. The lumber is quarter sawn for the best grain rather than the highest grade. Our quartered white oak is an S&B grade out of the Appalachian mountains.
Rift white oak is a hard and heavy wood typically used for flooring, furniture, cabinet making, interior trim work, paneling, cooperage for wine and whiskey, and shingles.
