Over 1,000,000 BF of domestic and imported hardwoods, in thickness ranging from 4/4 – 16/4. We stock only the highest grades available, produced by the industry’s leading sawmills worldwide. We can obtain non-stocking and hard to get items in a short time frame and stock many specialty woods.
Reddish brown with small pores and an even fine straight grain. Great for cabinets, furniture or other interior projects such as shelving and paneling. Can be primed, painted, sealed and stained.
Random width lumber surfaced 3 sides, two smooth faces and one straight edge for optimal lumber yield. Superior alder also known as select alder or clear alder, is a high-grade hardwood that produces a clearer stock than its close relative knotty alder. Alder, part of the birch family, is a softer hardwood from the Pacific Northwest.
Consistent color, stability, and uniform acceptance of stains and finishes are some of the characteristics that have made western alder a preferred wood for furniture. Its elasticity makes it ideal for carving intricate details. Ranking second only to oak as the most commonly used wood, alder offers the look of many fine hardwoods at a value price.
Dimensional select alder surfaced, sanded, smooth, and straight on all 4 sides is ready to be made into cabinets, furniture, trim, or your own special project.

In rustic or knotty grades of lumber, there will be a percentage of degrade during the milling process. Some knots may shake lose and/or fall out during the milling process. Mason’s Mill is not liable for these defects in moldings produced from knotty grades of lumber.
Green beams will typically contain checks, splits and knots. These are natural defects and are normal for these products. Beams can not be returned.

The sapwood is light-colored to nearly white and the heartwood varies from greyish or light brown, to pale yellow streaked with brown. The wood is generally straight-grained with a coarse uniform texture.
The degree and availability of light-colored sapwood, and other properties, will vary according to the growing regions.

A select & better grade cherry hardwood out of Pennsylvania that is extremely popular with cabinetmakers. Cherry is easy to work, fine textured, strong and fairly durable. Highly rated in all working properties including wood bending and turning.
Cherry becomes darker and richer with age turning reddish brown with a golden luster. Freshly cut cherry is often very pale, but the wood oxidizes to its famously favorable rich brown red in time.
